How to Deactivate Your Nova ID Account

Modified on Tue, 12 Aug at 11:32 PM

Account deactivation is a quick way to put your Nova ID on pause without losing any of your data. It’s a safer alternative to deletion if you simply need a break or want to temporarily lock down your account.

When to Consider Deactivation

Deactivation can be helpful in situations like:

  • Taking a break – If you just want time away from Nova Suite without losing your data.

  • Security concerns – If you suspect someone may be trying to access your account but you want to keep all your information intact.

We recommend deactivation over deletion unless you are certain you never want to return to Nova Suite.

How Deactivation Works

You can deactivate your account at any time from the Nova Accounts app:

  1. Log in to Nova Accounts.

  2. Go to Privacy > Account Actions > Deactivate Account.

  3. You’ll see a confirmation screen explaining how it works:

    • Immediate effect: Your account will be blocked from login.

    • Data preservation: All of your data remains safe.

    • Reactivation: You can log back in after 72 hours to restore full access.

  4. Enter your account password when prompted.

  5. Once confirmed, you’ll be signed out and your Nova ID will be inaccessible for 72 hours across:

    • Nova Suite apps

    • Third-party apps using Sign In with Nova ID

  6. You’ll receive a confirmation email letting you know your account was deactivated.

Important:

  • It may take up to 2 hours for the deactivation to fully take effect depending on how much data your Nova ID holds.

  • If you believe your account was deactivated in error, contact our support team at hello@novasuite.one. For your safety, we may require identity verification before reactivation.

Reactivating Your Account

  • Reactivation becomes available 72 hours after deactivation.

  • Simply log back in to your Nova ID on any Nova Suite app to restore full access.

Why 72 Hours?

We’ve set a 72-hour window to:

  • Prevent accidental reactivation – so you don’t change your mind too quickly.

  • Block malicious access attempts – giving extra time for potential threats to pass before the account is accessible again.

Tip: If you think your account has been compromised, deactivation is a safe first step while you reset passwords, review connected apps, and secure your devices.
